So what’s for sale in this wonderful setting?
It’s this stone built barn which is being sold with consent for conversion to residential use, which the auctioneer states offers “a superb opportunity of creating a characterful house worthy of its location”. Planning permission was granted to convert the barn into a three bedroom detached residential dwelling incorporating an extension on the rear elevation. The details also state there’s ample space to create a garden and parking area if so desired, and included in the sale is an outbuilding (4m x 4m) of blockwork construction with a corrugated roof.
The barn is situated just over a mile from Bodmin Moor (in Cornish: Goon Brenn), a granite moorland of 80 square miles dating from the Carboniferous period of geological history. It also includes “Brown Willy”, the highest point in Cornwall. Bodmin Moor has been inhabited since the Neolithic era and many of Cornwall’s rivers have their sources here.
Mount, Bodmin, Cornwall, PL30 is being sold at auction on 12 February. For more information contact the auctioneer.
