BIG Thank YOU For YOUR Support: I Am In The BiBs Finals!

Just wanted to say a BIG Thank YOU to all of you who voted for What Sam Saw Today in the Brilliance in Blogging Awards.

I am delighted to tell you I am now through to the FINALS and I am wearing my badge with pride:

NOMINATE ME BiB 2013 LIFESTYLE

The winners will be announced at the Brilliance in Blogging Awards party on the 21 June.  This is a MAJOR event: over 500 attendees in a swanky central London location, Kirstie Allsopp is the keynote speaker and there will be much champagne to quaff and nibbles to nibble.  And, of course, awards to hand out!

So thank you, thank you for voting for me, supporting me and helping me be a part of this fabulous event!

Super, super chuffed 🙂

    Congratulations Sam!

I’ve only just started reading your blog, so I missed the cut-off date to vote for you – but I would’ve done otherwise 🙂

As a new investor, having just completed on my 2nd auction purchase, I’ve found your blogs and your journey very interesting and inspiring.

I’m rooting for you to win.

Hi Chris (Team Sam!) Thanks so much for your kind comments. I am so pleased you are finding the blog useful. I am excited to hear you have projects on the go as well! How are you finding the experience?

        I’m loving the experience Sam.
The first project was a 3 bed terrace unsold at auction, I picked up for £60k and renovated for £15k. It needed a bit of work. I’m hoping to re-mortgage for around £100k-£110k next week after 6 months of ownership.
The 2nd is a 3 bed semi that I purchased for £73k. This one doesn’t require as much work and the builders start on that next week.

The downside is that both properties are a few hours from where I live in London but the prices are cheaper and yields better.
What’s your opinion on investing far from home?

Chris, that’s great you are enjoying the experience and it sounds like you have managed to bag some terrific bargains. I agree the properties outside London are cheaper and the rental yields appear higher. I have many properties far away from where I live (symptomatic of buying at auction – I cannot resist a deal!). However, recently I have been assessing this and I will write more on this shortly as it’s something I have been mulling over the past few days.
